After returning with the single ‘Pharmacist’ last month, Alvvays have dropped another fresh cut, this time in the form of ‘Easy On Your Own?’. It’s a gritty indie rock track that packs itself full of noisy, distorted guitar work which is balanced out by constantly melodic vocal lines. Amongst their occasionally shoegaze-esque music is a structural and compositional complexity that reminds us of the likes of Ben Folds Five and Jellyfish. It’s interesting, feel-good music. Make sure you check out their upcoming third album, Blue Rev, when it drops on October 7th, 2022. The band are also on tour around the US this autumn. -Dan Peeke
